Third grade is a time of transition. Children in third grade are the leaders of the primary department. As they move from the more basic levels of understanding, they are able to apply previous knowledge to new and more complex situations.

Our religion focus for the year is "Church". We begin by recognizing Jesus as our friend, and that we are all called to be disciples. As a part of this calling, we then move into a study of the Mass, Sacraments, and different kinds of prayer. |

The reading portion of our language arts program is divided into six themes which include skill-based activities in comprehension, writing, and the other language arts. The English segment of our program focuses on writing skills and proper sentence structure and grammar usage. Spelling activities focus students on sound-letter relationships. We also begin cursive writing in the Third Grade.
